Description
W-E516 series are available for clamping thin sheet metal
specimens. The W-E516 series grips feature a sliding wedge design and are intended to clamp a range of metal
ribbons up to 4.76 mm (0.188 in) thick.
These grips are provided in two capacities and should be selected based on material strength and testing machine capacity.
Principle of Operation
The W-E516 series utilizes sliding wedges, which grip
specimens up to 12.7 mm (0.5 in) wide. A lever opens the jaws in the grip pocket, and a spring provides the initial clamping force on the specimen. The gripping surfaces of the wedges are fitted with replaceable file inserts.
