Hardness Testers

Hardness testing determines the hardness of metals, alloys, small precision parts, wire, and plastics ranging from the softest bearing materials to the hardest steels. Hardness testers are used extensively in heat treat analysis and by the automotive, aerospace, steel, and transportation equipment industries.

Our Rockwell Hardness Testers are fast and reliable systems that determine the hardness of metals, alloys, small precision parts, wires and plastics. Testers range from deadweight hardness testers with an industry leading Gauge Repeatability and Repoducibility to load cell controlled hardness testers with the highest level of depth measurement accuracy and resolution available. All testers are capable of testing in both regular and superficial hardness scales.
Our Knoop/Vickers Hardness Testers are widely used for testing the hardness of small precision parts, thin materials or wires, coatings, and for determining case depth hardness. Testers are used for both microhardness applications with a load range of 10 gf – 1 kgf, as well as macrohardness applications with an industry leading load range of 10 gf – 50 kgf.
Our Brinell Hardness Testers are designed for accurate and repeatable testing on applications such as castings and forgings. Testers are load cell controlled and capable of testing to loads of 3,000 kgf.
Our Universal Hardness Testers are equipped with a closed-loop load system, eliminating overshoot and combining a fully-automatic controlled test cycle. Testers are capable of testing in Brinell, Vickers, and Rockwell scales.
With our Automated Hardness Testers, operators can significantly reduce testing time by automating the testing process for both Knoop/Vickers and Rockwell applications.
Durometers and Micro O-Rings determine the indentation hardness of rubbers, plastics, and elastomers.
