As with many composite materials, we are seeing carbon fibers being incorporated into more daily uses, ultimately increasing the requirement for materials testing. This is to ensure that these materials are safe and suitable when made into the final products. In particular, for the testing of certain composites, such as carbon fiber uni-directional samples, it is important to use the correct testing instrument and gripping solution.
We recently tested carbon fiber uni-directional samples and found that by using the 3300 universal testing instrument with the 2716 manual wedge action grips, we were able to test the samples without any grip slippage, allowing us to provide the correct testing solution for this customer.
